A New Look for a Rugged GMC SUV
We see nearly every vehicle offered on the market become the recipient of a mid-cycle refresh when it’s time. The 2020 model year is the right time for the GMC Acadia to be updated and improved. This SUV will arrive for this new model year with a new face up front that gives it a look that resembles the Sierra pickup truck. This front end looks bigger with the use of the new LED headlights to give it the effect desired. The rear of the SUV also receives new lights and a chiseled new look that you’re sure to admire.
GMC Adds the AT4 Trim to the Acadia
As this new trim level is added, we have specific expectations of what this trim will offer us. This new trim brings a visual element to the drive with black trim and wheels, all-terrain tires, and standard AWD. These are only a few of the upgrades that will make the AT4 the trim you want when you’re looking to take the Acadia out on the trails for some fun. You’re going to want to get this SUV dirty and let it offer you the fun and adventure you’ve been after.
The Acadia Powertrains for 2020
As one of the compact SUV models on the market, it’snot surprising to see a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood. This engine makes 230 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque for the drive. This engine is able to deactivate two of the cylinders when you only need two for the drive and it’s offered as the standard package on the SLT and Denali trims. You’ll also be able to choose the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that we’ve seen in the past and a 3.6-liter V6. The V6 is the standard engine for the AT4 trim and it gives you 310 horsepower and 271 lb.-ft. of torque.
One Transmission Does the Job for the Acadia
Regardless of the engine that you choose for the drive, the GMC Acadia uses a nine-speed automatic transmission to push the power to the wheels. This new transmission uses an electronic shifter instead of the mechanical shift lever. This change allows you to have more space between the seats to have the benefit of additional storage for the smaller items that you want to take with you when you get on the road.
Other Changes You’ll See for this GMC
The suspension offered for the 2020 GMC Acadia has been upgraded to give you a more comfortable ride on the road. Inside, you’ll notice the infotainment system has been revised with a bigger screen. There’s also USB-C inputs and customizable profiles along with wireless phone charging added to the mix of what you can have in the Acadia. We’ll learn more about this new model and cover the AT4 more extensively before the Acadia goes on sale in the fall. Expect to learn more and get excited about what GMC has done to improve the Acadia that you want to drive.
