Ten Cars that Cost More than the Chevrolet Corvette

We have entered the eighth-generation of the Chevrolet Corvette, also known as the C8 model. This brings with it a new build, the first mid-engine model, lots of power, and the performance you expect when you take this car for a drive.
What you might be shocked at is the price. Even though the engine is in the middle, like some European Exotics, the cost of the new Corvette isn’t a far cry from what it was before. Here are some cars you’ll be surprised are more expensive than the base Corvette.

Alfa Romeo 4C Spider

The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider uses a small four-cylinder engine and it’s a light and stripped down car that is meant to be fun to drive and turn fast laps at the track. The 4C Spider will do these things, but it’s more expensive than a base C8 Chevrolet Corvette. The Corvette has more than twice the power and it creates a comfortable cabin area for you to have a pleasant daily drive.

Audi TT RS

We won’t see much more of the Audi TT when it isn’t built in the near future. Even so, the Audi TT is going out with style by giving us the TT RS trim. This trim is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine, but it is more expensive than the Chevrolet Corvette. The Corvette is quicker, has more power, and it brings you the mid-engined rear-drive layout which means it should handle the world better than the front-drive base Audi.

BMW M4

The latest attempt to give us the Ultimate Driving Machine doesn’t quite feel as special as previous models, but the M4 is a car that has the quickness, power, and capable features that you want when its time for a drive. While the M4 uses a six-cylinder engine for good power, the Chevrolet Corvette has a strong V8 and more power for the performance you want. The cost difference is well-worth driving the Corvette.

BMW Z4

Another expensive BMW is the Z4. This little roadster is a car that is fun to drive and looks great, but it does cost more than the new Chevrolet Corvette. The Z4 is composed, easy to enjoy, and has plenty of power, but it still isn’t going to give you more than what you’ll find in the Chevrolet Corvette. The C8 Corvette is a car that has features you want and it has the power of a strong V8 engine.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT350

You don’t have to move to the GT500 versions of the Ford Mustang Shelby to be at a higher price than the Chevrolet Corvette. The GT350 is more powerful than the Corvette, it does give you a strong V8 engine, and it could be the perfect car for you. It’s up to you to decide if the added price is worth it or if you should choose the C8 Corvette.

Jaguar F-Type

This Jaguar is easy to love and it makes the drive right for you. Since its debut in 2014, Jaguar has done a lot to make this car one that can be amazing to drive. The entry-level of this car brings you a four-cylinder engine and a price that’s higher than the base Chevrolet Corvette. You can get a V8 engine in the SVR version of the F-Type, but the standard V8 in the Corvette could be perfect for you.

Lexus RC F

Other than the Mustang, the Lexus RC F is the only other car on this list to offer a naturally aspirated V8 engine to give you power for the drive. This means you’ll have plenty of power and a compelling drive on the track, but is it worth the added cost? Take the RC F and the Chevrolet Corvette for a test drive to see which one will be the right model for you.

Mercedes-AMG SLC 43

Seeing the name Mercedes won’t surprise you when you’re looking at a high price, but the SLC is a two-seat roadster that won’t be around much longer. This model offers you 385 horsepower, which doesn’t even come close to the power of the Chevrolet Corvette. Just skip this model and let it be the C8 Corvette be the right sports car for you.

Porsche 718 Cayman S

The biggest disappointment you’ll find on this list is the Porsche 718 Cayman. This car has a four-cylinder engine which doesn’t come close to giving you the power of the C8 Chevrolet Corvette. While leaving you wanting for power, the 718 Cayman also asks for a lot more money, which means you’re paying for the Porsche name instead of having a great car to drive that would be a lot of fun. Choose the Corvette; its more fun and powerful and right for you.

Toyota Land Cruiser

As an honorable mention in this group, you might be shocked to know that a Toyota SUV is more expensive than a base version of the Chevrolet Corvette. The Land Cruiser isn’t in the same class as the Corvette, but really, a Toyota, more expensive than the Corvette? It seems to be a tough item for you to deal with and a pill that’s impossible to swallow. Unless you need a massive SUV, let the Corvette be the fun car for you to drive.

Choose the Chevrolet Corvette

Save yourself some money and enjoy the amazing new look and drive of the C8 Chevrolet Corvette. This sports car now has an engine in the rear and it gives you the feeling of a European supercar on the road. You’ll be pleased to feel the power and enjoy the drive of this amazing car.
Chevrolet has always looked at the Corvette as a car that reaches supercar performance while giving you a price that is relatively affordable. Skip all those other cars that act like they can keep up with the Corvette and find the Chevrolet dealer in your area. This is where your Chevrolet Corvette is waiting for you.
