Shaking Things Up with the Kia Optima
The Kia Optima is considered to be one of the most attractive vehicles, and now it can offer a new look to rival premium and luxury sedans.
The midsize sedan segment has been mired as one of the most boring but necessary segments in the market for many years. This is where we find some of the most familiar vehicles to drive and the quality experience that makes sense when we head out on the road. The Kia brand is ready to shake things up with a new look to the Kia Optima.
The Kia Lineup Demanded the Change
The Kia brand has been churning out new models for the past few years and with the addition of the Stinger and Telluride, we see new vehicles that have the look we admire and want to enjoy. Because of the attention these two models have gotten, the Kia Optima needed an upgraded to make sure it continued to be one of the most attractive models in the lineup from Kia. The new model we’re going to see is the Kia K5 model which is the Korean domestic market name of the Optima.
A Huge Departure from the Current Optima
The new look of the Kia Optima starts at the front with a new evolution of the Kia signature grille. This new style is being called the “Tiger Nose Evolution” which stretches the shape wide enough to incorporate the headlights. The daytime running lights offer a heartbeat style, making the front lights styled the same way you would have when you see a simple EKG reading. This new look is mirrored in the rear as part of the taillights, giving you an amazing style that you can admire in the lights of the car you want to drive.
Continue to See the Style from Kia
The roofline of the new Kia Optima offers you a fastback style that slopes perfectly to give you the feeling this car is a four-door coupe and not a sedan. You will have a traditional trunk in the rear, even though the roofline could offer a hatchback opening, and you can store the items you need to in the trunk when you drive. You’ll see an attractive chrome strip that extends from the A-pillar to the trunklid to offer a smooth and elegant style that you can easily admire.
Dimensions Make a Difference in the Optima
The new Kia Optima looks longer, lower, and wider than the previous model because it is. The length has grown to 193.1 inches which is about two inches more than the outgoing model. The width is also up by nearly an inch to give you 73.2 inches of breadth to enjoy. The height of the car is nearly the same at 56.8 inches but the car sits lower to make it feel more like a sporty sedan. The wheels you’ll find range from 16 to 19 inches to give you the ride you want and the right wheels.
What Comes Under the Skin
Right now, Kia is remaining tight-lipped about what we will see in the cabin of the new K5 Kia Optima as well as what’s under the hood. We expect to see the same powertrains that are being offered in the model of the Hyundai Sonata to give us the right level of power and efficiency. If the new Optima follows the path that Kia has begun to offer, we should have a long list of comfort and sporty features that can make the ride in this car better than ever for you.
Will You Choose the New Kia Optima?
The new Kia Optima will make it to our market for the 2021 model year but we should know a lot more about this car before that date. The Kia K5 will be offered in Korea in the upcoming weeks, which will give us a look at what we can expect to arrive in the US when it’s time for the new Optima to arrive. The midsize sedan segment is being improved in a way that it hasn’t in the past with this new car. If you’ve been thinking about driving a new sedan and you want to have a stylish car with a look that will amaze others, choose the new Kia Optima when it arrives.
