The Off-Road Ready Ford Ranger FX4

The new Ford Ranger for sale in 2023 will go through a complete redesign inspired by the ever-popular F-150.

Ford doesn’t seem to be lacking when it comes to things worth our excitement.  The good news is that you don’t necessarily have to wait until then to grab a fully capable off-road warrior.

The Ford Ranger for sale is offered as either a SuperCab (six-foot bed) or SuperCrew (five-foot bed). You can also choose between three distinct models, along with a variety of add-on packages to practically customize your perfect pickup.

The Power To Handle The Off-Road

As of right now, every Ford Ranger is equipped with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. You can choose between rear-wheel and four-wheel-drive. There’s a rumor that the 2023 model year could come with an updated V6 turbodiesel engine, but Ford seems to only be considering this for some markets. The U.S. version of this mid-size truck is expected to keep the 2.3-liter option, but you might see a six-speed manual transmission as an option.

The Ranger is at the top of its class when it comes to towing. With the current powertrain configuration, it maxes out at 7,500 pounds. That’s more than enough to pull your camper to a virgin piece of wilderness to call home for a weekend adventure.

Create Tremors Off-Road

If you’re really looking forward to exploring new terrain, make sure to consider adding the Tremor Off-Road package. You’ll have to have the SuperCrew body and four-wheel drive before this add-on is available.

The Tremor package includes the following:

  • Updated suspension with 0.8-inches of additional ground clearance
  • Fox-shocks built for the off-road
  • 32-inch all-terrain tires
  • Side steps
  • Extra recovery hooks
  • Underbody protection
  • And more

Get The Ultimate Experience With FX4

Of course, if your goal is to blaze new paths with serious off-road features, don’t overlook the available FX4 package. This add-on requires that you already have a four-wheel-drive drivetrain.

Here’s what you can expect from this premier addition:

  • Off-road tuned monotube shocks
  • Off-road tires featuring aggressive tread
  • A traction-enhancing electronic-locking rear differential
  • Exposed steel brush plate
  • Skid plats
  • Electric power-assist steering electric motor(EPAS)
  • And more

Where the FX4 package really shines is inside the cockpit. Your cluster gauge displays feedback on pitch and roll, along with your steering angle. The included Terrain Management System and Trail Control systems give you the edge to go where no truck has gone before.

Every Model Is A Winner

Even if you’re not ready to go full-out with a Ford Ranger for sale with all of the off-road perks, you won’t be confined to the pavement. Even the bare-bones base-level XL model can handle some off-road fun. Of course, if you’re serious about exploring the playground that is Mother Earth, stop by your local Ford dealer and ask about the FX4 add-on package that will turn your mid-size truck into the Magellan of the off-road.
