What To Expect From the 2022 GMC Sierra
The 2022 GMC Sierra has a lot to offer across trims, including the Sierra Denali Ultimate, which is one of the most luxurious trucks in its class. For the off-road set, the AT4X is ready to take on most adventures. GMC is taking reservations for these trucks now, and most trims are still open for business. Let’s take a look.
Denali and Denali Ultimate
The Denali Ultimate features a 6.2-liter V8 engine with a 3.0-liter Duramax diesel option, while the Denali offers a 5.3-liter engine standard with the Duramax diesel and larger V8 being an option. Much of what makes up the Denali Ultimate is luxury features. Some of these features include the Denali Vadar Chrome grille and black aluminum wheels for the exterior. For the interior, you’ll find the attractive Ultimate Alpine Umber theme with leather seating and wood accents. A 12-speaker Bose audio system is also standard. The Denali trim also comes with some trim-specific accents like a Denali chrome grille, perforated leather seating, wood and aluminum trim, and a 13.4-inch touchscreen.
AT4X and AT4
These trims are focused on off-road upgrades, but they also feature some nice interior accents as well. The AT4X comes with a 6.2-liter V8 engine, front and rear electronic locking differentials, a unique steel transfer case skid plate, and optional rocker protection. Inside the AT4X, you’ll find leather seating and Vanta ashwood trim as well as a 12-speaker Bose audio system. The AT4 comes standard with the 3.0-liter Duramax diesel engine and a two-inch factory lift with upgraded Rancho shocks and an off-road suspension. You can also get the 6.2-liter V8 engine as an option on this trim.
SLT and Elevation
The SLT trim has the distinction of offering the most trailering-assistance tech compared to other trucks in its class. It features a standard 5.3-liter V8 engine with the Duramax diesel as an optional engine. The Elevation trim offers a standard 2.7-liter turbo engine that makes 310 horsepower, but the 5.3-liter V8 and 3.0-liter Duramax diesel are optional engines. Another nice optional feature for the Elevation is the Premium Package, which adds heated front bucket seats with leather appointments.
SLE and Pro
These are the two base trims with starting prices of $45,860 for the SLE and $34,600 for the Pro. Both trims come standard with the 2.7-liter turbo engine, but the SLE can also be upgraded to the 5.3-liter V8 or the Duramax diesel, and the Pro can be upgraded to the 5.3-liter V8 only. Both trims boast more cargo bed volume than other trucks in the same class. The GMC-only six-function MultiPro tailgate is standard on the SLE trim and optional for the Pro trim.
As you can see, the 2022 GMC Sierra has a lot to offer compared to other trucks in its class. You’ll get plenty of power and features in the lower trims, but the higher trims are available for those who want more luxury or more off-road upgrades.
