Made for the Dirt
The 2024 GMC Sierra AT4X AEV is not kidding around. The AT4 standard edition was impressive enough, but GMC decided they weren’t done. The AT4X is in a league of its own. While it only comes in the 2500HD configured with the crew-cab body style and the standard-length cargo bed, what it has to offer will blow your mind. With 18-inch wheels and 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory M/T tires, the AT4X can take you anywhere.
AT4X’s suspension is raised 1.5 inches and uses the Multimatic DSSV spool-valve dampers, which are pretty much really cool shock absorbers. This will help drivers drive over rough terrain and descend rocky slopes as if they were driving on smooth highways.
AEV is Not Just a Toy
With the release of the Sierra AT4X comes the even more extreme edition, the AEV. The AT4X AEV is an aftermarket iteration of the truck that is truly not something to be messed with. AEV supplies the aftermarket parts to make the AT4X an even better off-roading beast than it already was. With new steel-stamped front and rear bumpers, the AT4X will be better equipped and more protected from its surroundings. Not to mention, the AEV supplies a tougher underbody and custom AEV wheels.
In terms of overall difference, there are not a ton of changes. The AEV version and the standard AT4X are very similar, but the AEV version is slightly better and more prepared for tougher conditions. That said, if you want to take your off-roading experience to the absolute limit, then you’ll have to try the AT4X AEV. GMC has not yet released the official asking price for this truck, but it is estimated to be around $90k, with an $8,000 increase if you want the AEV upgrade.
