Back in the day, we developed a neat little feature to our chat system that often gets overlooked. I don't know how many others do it - I'm sure somebody does - but I've found that it can be very useful whether you're managing your own dealer website chat or having us do it for you.
The feature is the sneak peek at what the website visitor is typing before they hit send. I know what you're thinking. Isn't that a little creepy? Isn't it unfair? After all, they can't see what you're typing before you push send. Why should you have the advantage? The answer - it's your dealership, your chat, and your website. Having a real-time view of what your website visitors are about to say gives you the ability to prepare your thoughts and answers.
Perhaps more importantly, it gives you the ability to know what they were thinking about saying, but didn't. This happens often when people are chatting with businesses, car dealers in particular. They might want to say something like, "We're heading over right now," or "I'm comparing the Camry with the Accord." Then, they either decide not to say it or someone tells them not to send it. Knowing their temperature can help you to know how to reply.
The information world is tilted towards the consumers when it comes to buying a vehicle. Help keeping a balance comes in many forms. This is just one of the many advantages to proper website chat.
