As the pandemic of COVID-19 hit the North American market, automakers began to offer special deals and programs to help encourage sales and reward those who were willing to brave the environment and head out to the dealership to buy a new or used vehicle.
There’s a good chance, once the pandemic is over, many of the deals offered will still be offered. You may be able to find special financing and amazing lease programs when you visit your dealers as the quarantine ends. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the deals offered before the stay-at-home orders were put in place to give you an idea of what you might find.
The main FCA brand that we know and enjoy are Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep. During March, FCA offered zero-percent financing for 84 months to give you an easy way to pay for the new model that you wanted to drive. This plane expanded to Fiat and Alfa Romeo during April along with an offer of no payments for the first ninety days to make it easier for you to have a new vehicle and get through the pandemic.
Ford came up with its “Built to Lend a Hand” program and launched it on March 19. This program was put in place to provide up to six months of support for buyers of the trucks for model years 2019 and 2020. This offer is a split between three months of Ford paying the bill and three months of deferred payments. Additionally, Ford has most of the dealers in America offering remote vehicle delivery for both sales and service. This deal is expected to come back once the pandemic has ended and it’s safe for you to buy a new Ford once again.
Another approach to the pandemic can be found at a GM location. All models that have Wi-Fi installed will have three months or 3 GB of complimentary service and data to give you Wi-Fi on the go. You’ll also have OnStar Crisis Assist for a limited time as well. When it comes to financing, GM is offering seven years of interest-free financing to give you an easy way to pay for the 2019 or 2020 vehicle that you drive. You can also defer payment for up to 120 days, giving you some time to get back to work and begin to pay for your vehicle once again.
If you chose a Honda before the quarantine orders went into effect, you would have been able to take advantage of up to sixty days of payment deferrals or extensions. Additionally, Honda was offering $1,000 off of all-new Honda models while Acura vehicles were eligible for a discount of $500 prior to the crisis. Hopefully, we will see these deals offered again once the dealerships are open for sales once again and you can purchase a new Honda or Acura to be the vehicle you want to drive.
Hyundai has taken another approach to the crisis. While this team is bringing back the Hyundai Assurance program, you could have ninety days of deferred payments and coverage for up to six months of payments to aid in the recovery after the coronavirus pandemic is over. If you have a warranty that’s going to expire between March and June, your warranty will automatically be extended through the end of June, giving you time to get to the dealership for the warranty service that needs to be completed for your Hyundai vehicle.
No official numbers were announced from Toyota regarding actual programs and savings, but if you have a vehicle that’s leased or financed through the Toyota or Lexus Financial Services, your payments will be deferred or extended as needed. These options will work whether you have a lease that is expiring or will expire in the near future. This makes it possible for you to relax and get through this crisis.
Look for great deals when you see the doors of your favorite dealerships open once again. Until then, stay safe, shop for your favorite models online, and get ready to buy that new vehicle that will come with the discounted pricing you’ve been looking for.
